Dry Needling

Dry needling involves the insertion of a very fine needle into tight knots in a muscle, known as “trigger points”, with an end result of improved flexibility and function, normalised muscle tone and decreased pain. This is achieved by getting a “twitch response” in the muscle, which releases the trigger points and relaxes the muscle belly.

The relaxation of trigger points leads to increased blood flow and oxygenation to the affected muscles, promoting a healing response. Dry needling can be used as part of the treatment for various conditions, including Plantar Fasciitis, heel pain, forefoot pain and ankle pain.
